I always remember being told by the nurse to check my breasts once a month. It’s very good practice to check your breasts this often, but if not, then check when you remember! I still come across women in my surgery who don’t regularly check their breasts, either because they are not sure what they are feeling for, or they are worried that they might find something serious. Remember, you are not hunting for breast lumps. You are in fact trying to familiarise yourself with what is ‘normal’ for you, so that if there are any changes, it is much easier for you to spot.
