A natural approach to comfort and wellbeing
Acupuncture during pregnancy is a safe and gentle complementary therapy that may help support your wellbeing throughout the different stages of pregnancy.
Pregnancy acupuncture can be used from the early stages of pregnancy through to birth preparation, helping to support both physical and emotional wellbeing.
At 2Me Clinic, acupuncture treatments are tailored to your individual needs. Sessions focus on promoting relaxation, supporting the body’s natural balance and helping you feel as comfortable as possible during pregnancy.
Supporting your pregnancy journey
Acupuncture may help support a range of pregnancy-related concerns, particularly when other treatment options may be limited.
Treatments aim to support your wellbeing throughout:
• Early pregnancy
• Mid-pregnancy comfort and balance
• Birth preparation
• Postnatal recovery
Maintaining good physical and mental wellbeing during pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period is important for both mother and baby.
Acupuncture offers a natural and supportive approach that can be integrated alongside your existing maternity care.

Breech Presentation
For women with a breech presentation, we offer moxibustion treatments from 33 to 38 weeks, with the preferred time being around 34 weeks. Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese method involving the burning of dried Moxa (Mugwort) leaves. The heat generated from this process stimulates specific points on the body, promoting the potential for the baby to turn.
During your consultation, we will provide a treatment and demonstrate how to safely self-administer moxibustion at home. Moxibustion is easy to perform and does not involve needles. We will give you clear verbal and written instructions, covering the method and safety guidelines, so you can continue the treatment in the comfort of your home for up to 10 days.
At the end of the consultation, we provide:
- Moxa sticks
- Instruction sheets (including a list of equipment, method, and safety guidelines)
- Telephone support for any queries
Exclusion criteria for moxibustion treatment include:
- Placenta previa
- History of ante-partum haemorrhage
- Multiple pregnancy
- Known abnormality of the uterus or pelvis
- History of premature labour or premature ruptured membranes
- Recent Caesarean section (within the last 2 years)

Preparation for Labour: Pre-Birth Acupuncture
Our pre-birth acupuncture programme involves a series of treatments starting at 37 or 38 weeks of pregnancy and continuing until delivery. This approach combines acupuncture with massage to create the best possible conditions for a smooth and effective labour. Even if you have a scheduled C-section, these treatments offer valuable physical and emotional support during the final weeks of pregnancy.
We recommend:
- Weekly pre-birth acupuncture and massage from 37 weeks, tailored to your specific needs.
- An extended session to teach acupressure techniques to your birth partner, with a guide for using acupressure during labour.
